Jon Feraro

My paintings explore the landscapes we carry within us—the emotional terrain shaped by memory, resilience, loss, and hope. Using oil paint and a palette knife, I build dense, textured surfaces where each layer records both intention and discovery. The process of scraping, carving, and rebuilding mirrors how experience reshapes us over time.

Rather than depicting places literally, I create landscapes that exist between observation and emotion. Trees become witnesses, cottages become sanctuaries, rivers become passages, and light suggests possibility. Texture is central to my work, encouraging viewers to slow down as changing light reveals new relationships within the paint.

As an emerging artist and cancer survivor, painting became a way to transform adversity into reflection. Through Inner Terrain Studio, I seek to create work that honors vulnerability, endurance, and the quiet strength found in every journey.
