My work focuses on transitions in nature - light shifting across land, water, and atmospheric space. Moving into watercolor has pushed me to rethink how I build that feeling. In oil, I layer from dark to light, slowly adding illumination forward. Watercolor demands the opposite: everything begins with light, and each darker wash must protect it. This reversal has become the core challenge - finding the same depth, calm, and sense of lived experience while working in a medium that reveals every decision. On paper, the immediacy of each wash and edge creates a different kind of honesty. I aim to shape moments where clarity emerges gradually, inviting viewers to pause, sense change, and connect with the quiet resilience found in natural forms.
